President Trump has withdrawn the U.S. From the Paris Accord – 6/1/2017

Another Promise Kept –

As President Trump so eloquently promised at all the rallies I attended during his campaign, he has withdrawn the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accord.  President Trump announced his decision this afternoon, June 1, 2017, during his address in the Rose Garden at the White House.  He is a man of his word and a blessing to America.  He clearly stated that he is willing to re-enter or negotiate an entirely new agreement with terms that are more advantageous to the U.S., while remaining a leader in clean energy.

President Trump is protecting the U.S. economy and jobs by withdrawing from this Accord. The Accord would cost the U.S. about $3 trillion in lowered output, 6 million industrial jobs/3 million manufacturing jobs.

  • The Paris Accord undermines U.S. Competitiveness and Jobs;

  • Created a taxpayer-funded UN climate slush fund;

  • Was negotiated poorly by the Obama Administration;

  • Meeting the Obama’s Administration’s requirements in this Accord, it would cost the U.S. approx. $3 trillion over the next several decades (Study by: NERA Consulting);

  • President Obama committed $3 billion to the Green Climate Fund;

  • President Obama did not get authorization from Congress for this Accord;

  • This Accord affords China unlimited emissions until 2030, while imposing draconian targets on the U.S. to reduce our carbon emissions; and

  • Per MIT, if all nations met their obligations, the impact on the climate would be insignificant (would reduce global temperature rise by .2 degrees C in the year 2100).

The Paris Accord is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and it is a treaty requiring two-thirds Senate Vote. President Obama knew he would not meet the two-thirds threshold required by the Constitution’s Treaty Clause, shown below in part. So Obama went ahead and ratified it himself.  Obama went ahead and did the same thing with the Iran Nuclear Agreement, another act of Executive Overreach. Obama knew that Policy made by Congress is accountable to voters (policy made by the U.N. intergovernmental panel on Climate Change is not.)

[Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, includes the Treaty Clause, which empowers the president of the United States to propose and chiefly negotiate agreements, which must be confirmed by the Senate, between the United States and other countries, which become treaties between the United States and other countries after the advice and consent of a supermajority of the United States Senate.

  1. Awesome Article, very well written. It’s time that those who do NOT understand the Paris Accord and how bad it is for our Economy, our jobs, our people truly need to know just how bad it is for our Environment. Ask yourselves the following questions: Where are all of these so-called Environmental groups when it comes to the deliberate destruction a.k.a. climate engineering? Why are the majority of the very rich, elite congressional leaders so against pulling out of this Paris Accord? What have any of these rich, elite, congressional leaders done for WE the people? Have they ever gone out of their way to help any of the people personally? Have they ever truly looked out FOR their Constituents BEST INTERESTS? What are they doing with our hard earned tax payer dollars that WE the middle class people, have paid out of our pockets? Why are they so against the issues that are more than important FOR the people of our country? Climate change is a hoax in order to continue to increase our taxes and blame environmental issues on us when in fact we know that there are many programs that are taking place which are a huge detriment to our environment. If only the public was awake, did their research and continued to raise critical mass public awareness and stopped listening to the lame stream “conditioning” news media!

    1. Thank you RockGoddess for the comments. I totally agree. This agreement was entered into by Pres Obama to support other countries at tax payer’s expense. No wonder we can never balance the budget. First time a president is standing for us the people.
